Question 1

What should I do if I smell gas?

Accepted Answer

If you smell rotten eggs or suspect a natural gas leak, leave the property immediately. Do not use electrical switches, phones, or open flames inside. Call 911 or your gas utility provider from a safe location. Call NewTown Energy for repair only after the area has been declared safe by authorities.

Question 2

Do you offer emergency HVAC service?

Accepted Answer

Emergency heating help is available during our hours, Sunday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. If you smell gas, leave the home and call your gas utility emergency line or 911.

Question 3

Should I repair or replace my older furnace?

Accepted Answer

The decision depends on the failed part, the system's age (usually 15+ warrants replacement), repair history, efficiency, and safety. We perform a full diagnosis first, then explain the costs of repair versus replacement so you can make an informed choice.

Question 4

How often should I change my furnace filter?

Accepted Answer

Standard 1-inch filters should be checked monthly and replaced every 1-3 months. Thicker media filters (4-5 inches) typically last 6-12 months. Homes with pets, renovations, or high dust may require more frequent changes.

Question 5

Accepted Answer

Mississauga is a primary market. We also provide HVAC service to Vaughan, Woodbridge, Markham, Richmond Hill, North York, Etobicoke, Scarborough, Toronto, Pickering, Oshawa, Ajax, Whitby, Newmarket, and Aurora.
